YES. I’m tired of all of you pretentious assholes saying that I’m not “really reading” because I use a kindle.

Yes, you are reading.You are just reading a “lesser” form of book. Reading isn’t just reading the words on a page/screen, it’s smelling the book, new or old, it’s wearing the books spine out after rereading it for the X’th time, it’s leaving crease marks on a page you flipped too fast because you were that eager to get to the next page, and most of all, it’s losing yourself in a book to the point where the world around you no longer exists. And I, for one, cannot lose myself in an electronic screen. The words of a real book take on a depth that cannot ever be recreated on anything electronic. So you may be reading a book, but you will never truly experience a book unless you read it in a printed medium.

If it weren’t for my iPhone I’d read so rarely nowadays. The ability to have a book on me at ALL times is so valuable. Any pretentious dickwad who wants to act like it’s not reading can eat a dick. They’re the same words, the same story. Fuck you.

I never thought of myself as better than anyone without an e-reader - people without them started that shit and I’d just like to point that out. It’s not about LOOK AT ME ON MY FANCY E-READER!! It’s about, I’m not one of those people who wants to lug a bag the size of a duffel bag around so that if I randomly have downtime I can sift through which book I want to pick up. Oh my God, why can’t we all just and be glad so many of us DO?

Yessssss books are so heavy and I love reading different things and reading magazines on the Kindle saves paper because srsly, who’s going to care about an article in Us Weekly 3 months later?
